My name is Christia Marie Jordan Lockett. I was born in Washington, DC on July 19th, 1982 to the parents Pennetta Marie
Lockett and Thomas Henry Lockett. My Father Thomas Lockett played in a group during the late 70s called "Slave". Slave originated
in Dayton, Ohio. My mother decided to further her education in the University of the District of Columbia.
By the time
I was two, my parents divorced due to irreconcilable differences. October of 1987 my mother re married a man named Donald
Theodore Pollard. In the early 90s he joined the Navy to help support our new family. When I turned five-years-old, my mother
bore my first sibling; Brittiney Lace Pollard (15). A year later I had my first brother; Donald Theodore Pollard Jr. (14).
By April 4,1994 the last bundle of joy, Adam Elijah Pollard was born(10). Adam almost didn't make it due to my mother having
him at a premature age of seven months. He struggled to stay here on this Earth. He only weighed 2 pounds and 8 ounces. Today
my siblings are doing very well.
Throughout the 90s we moved around due to my step fathers line of work. We lived in Maryland,
Indiana, Virginia, New York, and California. I enjoyed California the most because it was the most multicultural. I attended
many schools from the East to West coast. living in different states helped me adjust to fast and slow paste areas more so
than children that have only lived in one state all of their lives. This helped me become more social.
By my senior year
of high school I began to think about furthering my education, so I followed the procedures for college admittance. North
Carolina Central University was the first choice. While attending North Carolina Central University, I majored in Criminal
Justice. I hope to work in the Federal Government in the future.
